The Way We Were by HyShqa The Way We Were by HyShqa
Something I've been working on for the last few days.

The little orca right in the center is baby Morgan, the recently rescued emaciated calf, the orca above her is her mother, and the rest are her family (or my interpretation of).

I'm sad about her back story, the fact that she lost her family and was starving for some time, but whether she's released or sent to a different facility, I'm sure she's got a fantastic life ahead of her =]

Artwork (C) ~HyShqa

EDIT: Keep any and ALL comments relevant to this image and not to Morgan herself. I don't care if you don't agree with the decisions made based on her life, I can't do anything about that can I -_-

Regardless of the petty human politics surrounding the issue, this is a wonderful painting, and really serves to remind you that at one time, this was the nature Morgan's early life. Makes you wonder what became of her mother and all their relatives. :(

The Orca Coalition have admitted themselves that no one has been able to trace her family, or even the region she is from, despite all of the technologically advanced methods they have so far used to try and locate them, so it is fair to say they will never be found. It angers me that in the same breath the Orca Coalition readily admit they would rather release her into the sea despite not knowing the whereabouts of her family or having a good plan to reintroduce her successfully - basically saying they would much rather see her dead than in captivity. In the early days I hoped she would be released but chances of a successful reintroduction grew so slim it became unrealistic. I'm happy she's going to be sent to Loro Parque in Tenerife, it's a fantastic facility and has all the help of Seaworld behind it. The next coute date is on 7th November when the appeal from the Orca Coalition against Morgan's move will hopefully (and probably) be rejected so she can be moved asap. I think she will be moved within the next 2 weeks.
